The new theme of this site is about the one thing all of us could use more of, yet never seem to have enough of...TIME.

Months have passed since I authored my last post and nothing has changed here. I haven't forgotten this, my beloved website. I simply don't have the time to work on it, which seems ironic, since that's what the site is about. I have several new concepts on the drawing board and a bunch of new material to add, I just can't seem to get out here to make it happen.

I'm hoping to find some time over the holidays to dedicate to bringing this site to life, so bear with me a bit longer. It's been a while since I've taken on such a large project and life's a LOT busier since the last iteration of Millennium's Realm. I'm designing several realms at a time, but will release them individually, preferring to focus on one realm at a time when it comes to the launching schedule. I'm still targeting the end of the year for the first realm, so hang in there folks!

Such is the case for many things in life...and this page is no exception. Those who remember my older iterations of Millennium's Realm may recognize this page in particular by it's layout. I have made some minor tweaks, but the general style remains as it was many years ago. Today, this format is called a "blog". Just goes to show you how far ahead of the curve Millennium's Realm was over two decades ago. I'm not the person who invented the concept of blogging and I'm definitely not the person who coined the word "blogging", but I can say that I was certainly doing it long before it had that name. Moving on...

As a programmer, I prefer to design my own websites, rather than used someone else's canned pages. This sets my work apart from others and grants me more freedom to do things my way. Anyone peeking under the hood will see I'm currently using a HTML/CSS hybrid model. This allows me to quickly get pages up and running without a lot of extra coding. As the site continues to evolve and expand, this model will be enhanced with Python and other web design elements as well. Several new plans are already on deck for implementation. All I need is time...

Speaking of time, this new iteration of Millennium's Realm will be a strong departure from my previous sites. Using the theme concept design of the version 5 Millennium's Realm: Renaissance, Millennium's Realm: Evolution also is theme-based; and that theme is "Twisted Time".

“Twisted Time” will introduce a more techno-retro style, exploring some of my favorite subjects; steampunk victoriana, dystopian worlds, retro-futurism, science fiction and more. Of all my previous realms, only two will be salvaged, and they will be reimagined (my new favorite word for this site) to match the new theme, those being The Realms of Yesteryear and Tomorrow. All of the other realms that are to come will be completely new places to visit and explore.

I hope to have the initial stages of the main site ready for exploration by the end of 2023, with realms spinning up as frequently as time allows. I'm also building the server that Millennium's Realm: Evolution will eventually reside upon, keeping all operations in-house and cost to maintain way down. For now, I will use this venue to keep you up to date.

Twenty seven years ago, the world saw the birth of a new website. It was simple, yet advanced for its time; the humble, quiet beginning of the place that would be called "Millennium's Realm". For almost a decade, the website continued to grow and change, adding beautiful new realms and features as the world's technology advanced; places of peace and solitude, of what is, what was and what could be.

In 2004, the last iteration of the site, Millennium's Realm: Renaissance, arrived; a bold new look and a slight departure from previous versions, yet continuing in its upward direction towards its apex. Expansion continued for two additional years before the Great Tech Ice Age advanced and consumed the realms entirely. Before the worst could come, the Great Technomancer sealed the realms in a cyber cocoon, to protect and preserve them as they lay in a deep, restless sleep. For the next decade and a half, Millennium's Realm would remain frozen in time, awaiting the Great Thaw that would inevitably come one day.

Flash forward to today...the cyber world has vastly changed since the Great Tech Ice Age consumed the Realms. Technologies only dreamt of in the past are now very real; high speed access to data and information, beautiful graphics and incredible power are the new norm of the day; the chnages in the internet landscape are immense.

At long last, the Great Thaw has begun and a new, transformed Realm is emerging into the world of its own tomorrow. An incredible metamorphosis has taken place within its protective cocoon, one that was never expected by the Great Technomancer that sealed it so long ago, yet one that is very much needed in the cyber world of today.
